Immaculate Conception was established on November 18, 1928 by the Most Rev. Ledvina. On the same day that he established the parish he also dedicated the first church building which was constructed from wood. The first pastor was Rev. A. J. de Guerro.
On May 19, 1958 the Most Rev. Garriga came to dedicate the new (and still in use) church building. The new building was built under the leadership of Rev. Msgr. J. Alvarado.
In August of 1970, Hurricane Celia destroyed a significant portion of the church. The resiliant people of faith came together to repair the building. The repairs to the church were overseen by Rev. G. Boensch.
In 2016, the church underwent a renovation and was rededicated by the Most Rev. Wm. Michael Mulvey on April 6, 2017. The renovation was carried out under the leadership of Rev. P. Stanley

Religious Education times have changed and all children from Immaculate Conception & Holy Family Parishes attend Religious Education at Immaculate Conception Parish Hall .Sometimes change isn't a bad thing we just need to pray and God handles everything.
